84-year-old man bags over 21 years jail term for bank robbery – Nairametrics

An 84 years old man, Robert Francis Krebs of Tucson, Arizona was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps.

A press release from the Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona read:

“Krebs was previously convicted by a jury for armed bank robbery. 

On January 12, 2018, Krebs used a BB gun to rob two bank tellers of over $8,000 at a Pyramid Federal Credit Union in Tucson, Arizona.

“Krebs was arrested the following day at a motel where he had been residing. Krebs has an extensive prior criminal history and was on a term of probation in Florida when he committed this robbery.”

The convict’s attorney, Erin Carrillo, was reported to have told Judge Zipps that “her client committed the Tucson robbery to return to prison because he didn’t feel like he fit into society after spending decades in prison.“

Before Tuesday’s conviction, Krebs was reported to have served a cumulative jail time exceeding 30 years for a slew of bank robberies and embezzlement charges.
